{{Giveaway}} Time to #LoseTheLaces with HICKIES!

Mornings are usually a madhouse around here during the week!

I get the kids out of bed at 7:00am, and spend the next hour and a half making breakfast, yelling calming reminding the kids to keep eating their breakfast, yelling encouraging them to quickly get dressed, and brush their teeth.

Then trying to get them to put on their coats and shoes, usually takes three times longer than necessary! If something could make this process faster, then I am all for it. My daughter knows how to tie her laces, but watching her s-l-o-w-l-y tie them is so painful when you’re in a rush.

As for me…I love to run! You can catch me lacing up my runners and heading out on preschool mornings to get in some exercise and more importantly, some much needed “me time”!

My shoes go through a lot and get worn out pretty quickly. My laces wear out before my soles do because I tie them so tight. I like to keep my shoes tight when I run, if not, blisters are my new friends.

I recently discovered HICKIES.

The HICKIES Lacing System is a modular one, meaning that instead of one lace running through the length of each shoe, you have one unit per pair of eyelets. This allows for a one-size fits all design with maximum customization when it comes to tightness, comfort, security, and color.

These “laceless” laces are awesome!

My runners are comfortable and snug, and super quick to put on. I love the variety of colours available to mix and match with my shoes and clothing.

The great thing about these are, the variety of ways to “lace up”! You can wear them loose or tight depending on your needs and style.

{{The Giveaway}}

Hickies has provided us with two sets of Hickies “laceless” modular systems to giveaway! Two readers will be selected to WIN a set! Winners will be drawn November 19th. Contest is open to residents of the Greater Vancouver area and Sea to Sky Corridor. Please enter via the Rafflecopter link below.

When life gives you lemons…#MyRecovers

A few weeks ago, I broke my leg.

I had a fight with a pair of sparkly high-heeled shoes and let’s say, the shoes won.

I always thought purple was a nice colour...

I’ve twisted my ankle before but this felt different. Plus the bruising and swelling was far more amazing than it had ever been, so I knew it was something more this time.

The X-ray

The hospital outfitted me in some fancy new footwear that I get to don for the next five to six weeks. Perfect in time for the Summer weather that is now upon us.

*think sweaty, stinky socks found in your kids gym bag at the end of the school year!*

The boot

One of my Mom friends suggested plastering my boot with stickers to fancy it up. (Didn’t you have a friend in elementary school that broke their arm and everyone signed their cast?) I ran with this idea!

My dear friend Google is who I turned to in my search for the appropriate accessories to snazz up my solo high top.

One of the first websites to pop up was My Recovers.

My Recovers

My Recovers has some pretty cool products available to “dress up” casts and walking boots if you are required to wear these after an injury. Items like stickers, iron-ons, covers as well as zipper pulls.

I went from sparkly shoes to sparkly boot with the rhinestones and Diva decal.

Yep...I'm a Diva!

And for those chilly days…I can step out and make a statement in the fashion boot cover!

Hey now!

Hey now!

Who wouldn’t be prepared on the Wet West Coast without the boot rain cover?!

Keepin' things dry

These zipper pulls are not just handy, but kids will love to add a little more flair to their gear!

Some more flair

Accidents happen. Sometimes we break bones and we recover. Why not make the best of it and have a little fun?

Check out My Recovers for some fun accessories and covers for when those accidents happen! Kids and grown-ups alike, will love the decals and iron-ons and the fun designs and colours to dress up their casts, boots and crutches.

{{Giveaway}} Dinner for 2 at #GustoDiQuattro

Since 1980, the Corsi family has been serving the North Shore their amazing Italian cuisine.

Gusto di Quattro

In 2000, Trattoria Corsi began operating as Gusto di Quattro but the tradition has remained the same.

This quaint, atmospheric restaurant established at the foot of the up and coming Lower Lonsdale scene, serves some of the most beautiful and tastiest Italian cuisine that anyone could ask for.

Tiramisu

The Antipasto Platter was to die for! Amazingly delicious…I couldn’t help but dive in!

Pasta trio

The pasta trio (Fettuccine Con Funghi, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Quattro) was divine, I had many helpings!

Tiramisu

This lovely tirimisu was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal!

The menu is so mouthwatering and the wines available are a fantastic compliment to each and every course!

Did I mention that every Monday and Tuesday, the pasta is only $10? Sign me up! The Fettuccine Con Funghi is my favourite, but if you have a hankering for something with a little more heat, Spaghetti Quattro will be right up your alley!

Next time you plan a lovely dinner out, you must visit Gusto di Quattro! It’s  and the patio is a perfect spot to people watch and catch the sunset.
