Kids love to dress up.

I remember when I was little, I would go through my Mum’s old clothing from the 60’s and 70’s and have a laugh at the weird things she used to wear. There were polyester bell bottoms, crop tops and even a big ‘ol bag of wigs! My best friend and I would piece together some outrageous outfits, plop on a wig and zip around the neighbourhood on our bikes or roller skates. We loved the attention that we drew and laughed until we cried and our faces and stomachs hurt.

Costumes have come a long way since the days of my childhood. They are more comfortable, durable, washable, and always available. We’d have to wait until Halloween came around where our Mum’s would go to Woolco and pick out one of those terrible one-time use plastic jumpsuits with the flimsy mask that was held on by a crummy elastic.

Do you remember these?

Do you remember these?

Nowadays, there are Princess dress-up sets and super hero gear that you can get for your littles to play with. They use their imaginations so creatively that one minute they’re having tea with their stuffies and the next minute, they’re racing around in the yard defending their playhouse from the evil lawnmower or hiding out in the pile of raked leaves waiting for and evil-doer to pass by.

Superfly Kids has a variety of dress up pieces that your kids will love to play with!

image

They carry super hero capes and accessories, tutu’s and even capes for the big kids who still like to dress up.

Our little super hero loves to pretend while wearing his custom cape.

image

He even protected his sister and I from the impending danger by the mower working in our local park.

image

Then his big sister took a spin around the park practicing her super power of running “really really fast”!

If you’d like to get your own little super hero his or her own cape, or perhaps a tutu, please visit Superfly Kids website. They can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.

When only a kiss from Mom will do! {Giveaway} #MomsKisses #YMCCommunity

Kids are clumsy!

20140606-164234-60154663.jpg
They always seem to have cuts and bruises and they just appear out of nowhere. It’s all just a part of being a kid. We were there once and we learned a lot from falling.

Being more careful, paying attention to our surroundings and thinking first before we just jumped into something or taking off.

And whenever we crashed and burned, Mom, being the super hero she is, was always there to kiss our boo boo’s and make it all better.

Snacks your child will love! #LoveChildOrganics #YMCCommunity

If you have kids…you know that you must ALWAYS carry snacks with you wherever you go.

Even a short trip to run errands, and the kidlets are hollering for something to eat.

The old standbys like granola bars, fishy crackers, chips, and gummy snacks are probably not the healthiest of options, but they travel well. Fruit pouches are a favourite of ours because they are available in so many varieties like Love Child Organics.

Love Child Organics make several healthy snacks that your weelets will enjoy! All of their yummy products are nutritionally-focused, organic and contain no unnecessary ingredients. That means you will never find refined sugars, additives, preservatives or fillers in any of their products.
